The Hidden Crisis of Military Financial Stress

New research reveals that financial burdens on our armed forces are a direct threat to national security, with nearly two-thirds of personnel reporting a negative impact on mission readiness.

45% of military personnel have had their security clearance revoked, or know someone who has, due to financial challenges/issues.
35% report that financial stress has negatively impacted their mental health over the past year.

Survey Methodology

This random double-opt-in survey was conducted by market research company Talker Research, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society (MRS) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR). Talker Research surveyed 500 military personnel. The survey was commissioned by DailyPay and administered and conducted online by Talker Research between Aug. 12 and Aug. 21, 2025.
